I am a lifetime resident of York. I grew up in my family’s business as a mechanic. When I started working with my dad, I would carry a Coca Cola crate with me to wash the windshield on customers’ cars. My parents were not breaking any labor laws, I just enjoyed being in the environment of the service station and garage with them. It not only taught me how to repair a car, it taught me valuable life lessons about business and people.
I am often asked who taught me Real Estate, and I answer “Tommy Broom”. The comment always comes back, “your father is a mechanic”. Yes he is, but he taught me business principles that make any business successful. Make sure that people understand that you appreciate their business and do the best job you can for them.
I have been selling Real Estate in York County for 38 years. I have been a Real Estate broker for 35 years. I am a Graduate from the Realtor Institute (GRI – 1994). I am a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS – 1998). I am a S.C. state-licensed auctioneer (1995). I have been awarded the Certificate of Professionalism from the S.C. Association of Realtors two times (1993 & 1998). I am a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club and the Awards of Excellence.
I am an old Baptist boy and have been a deacon in the church since 1984. The good Lord has blessed me very much in my real estate career, not just monetarily, but more richly with the friends and family He has given me.
